Course One: GAME HEADS
Each student will be required to mount and complete one game head.
Course Two: LIFE SIZE MAMMALS & RUGS
Each student will be required to complete one life size mammal and one rug. INSTRUCTION INCLUDED IN EVERY TAXIDERMY CLASS Laws & tagging requirements, Specimen handling & care, Skinning, Fleshing, Cleaning/washing/degreasing, Salting, Punch marking/Coding/Storage, Tanning/stretching/repair work, Measuring capes, skins and hides, Form selection & preparation, Body making/Commercial forms, Mounting procedure & methodology, Open & closed mouths, Antler/horn setting, Eye & ear placement, Using artificial parts, Posing, Sewing techniques, Base making, Drying techniques, Finish work & painting AND MUCH MORE!

During the full (100 hours)
training program, students receive a complete working knowledge of the two major areas of quality
commercial taxidermy and the art of "tanning skins for taxidermy" is
also included at no additional cost! General wildlife law, tagging, record
keeping, customer privacy and reference material are reviewed and included for
each course. With the full training program, we also include a ten hour
business class which will help prepare the student to start and operate his/her
own business. Total time for the complete course plus a ten hour business class
will be 110 hours. 1. Each course is geared towards: Quality, realism, speed, business success & student needs. We work hard and hold back nothing which includes trade secrets, formulas, methodology, problems and solutions and much more! 2. We concentrate instruction with step by step lecturing and "hands on" work! The student "learns by doing" with one on one guidance. All training is complete with a limited amount of video tape instruction. Written examinations, tests and finished mounts certify student competence and course knowledge. 3. CLASS SIZE: Individual training only. One on one instruction! 4. CLASS TIME: New classes are forming every month. Typical five, eight (or longer) hour days (variable times and hours). Five to six days a week. For students with outside jobs, we try to work around your schedule, on weekends and at night!

All instruction can be customized to the individual student. We can teach you by yourself or with other people in your group or organization. Discounts will be given to groups of five or more people. Family members are encouraged to learn as a “family.” We can travel to your location or you can travel to ours. We can supply books, materials, and related items. The student learns by doing, with hands on training. The student will receive lecture, one on one instruction, view video, and have plenty of field activities with “first hand” practical experience. At the end of your instruction and field activities, along with your new knowledge, you will also receive a prized certificate of completion as further evidence of your training and dedication to acquiring a useful and beneficial outdoor education.
WILDERNESS
SURVIVAL TRAINING
The big three topics of shelter, fire and signal are covered in detail. Locating water, travel and land navigation, weather, hypothermia, obtaining food, traps and snares, fishing, plant ID, solar still, building survival weapons, making clothes, shoes and rope, forecasting adverse weather, preservation of meat and other food in hot weather. This class will save your life! This is a very intense 30 hour workshop with 22 hours of practical application in field activities. All areas of survival are covered including a section on first aid! From the mountains and desert to jungle terrain --- You will survive!
HUNTING BIG GAME
Learn to hunt whitetail, mule deer, elk, black bear and moose. The techniques and instruction help guarantee your success. ID big game, trophy estimation, tracking, habitat, drives, caliber selection and bullet placement, field care, skinning for the taxidermist, current laws and regulations, and much more. This class is for the serious hunter that wants to be successful. A full 20 hours of instruction including 10 hours of field activities.
SUCCESSFUL FISHING
The student will learn the real secrets of fishing for warm water and cold water fish. Bluegill, Northern pike, bass, catfish, rainbow, brook and brown trout are covered in detail. You learn the correct way to use lures and bait. How to read water, casting techniques, equipment, streams, rivers, lakes and ponds are all explained with vivid techniques and sure-fire methods. We also head out to do some fine fishing. One on one instruction insures your understanding and success in this two day program.
USING HANDGUNS:
A TO Z TECHNIQUE
AND METHODS This is a professional 16 hour course designed to teach both men and women how to handle, control and shoot the handgun. We cover many topics including safety and common sense, Laws, concealed carry, actions, grip, aiming, shooting, cleaning and maintenance, buying a handgun, personal defense tactics and safe storage. One on one instruction guarantees attention to individual requirements.
PROFESSIONAL PREDATOR & FURBEARER TRAPPING
This 20 hour class leaves nothing untouched. We cover steel traps, ethics, laws, equipment, skinning, fleshing, stretching fur and marketing of pelts, record keeping, avoiding non-target animals, scouting for the trap line, sets and locations, baits and lures for land and water animals. Snares and snaring are also included. Coyote, fox, bobcat, raccoon, beaver, muskrat, badger, wolf and wolverine are some of the many animals covered. Field activities and hands on experience insure your future success.
